TidalFit Swim Spa Control System Parts — Diagnosis & Fitment Guide

This is the hub for everything that runs your TidalFit: control panels (the display and buttons on the top rail — Artesian calls them topside controls), circuit boards, spa packs and daughter boards. Start with the symptom. If the display is dead, dim or the buttons stopped responding, you most likely need a control panel or overlay. If the spa won’t heat, won’t power up, trips the GFCI or throws messages with a readable display, start with the circuit board or spa pack.

Which system do you have? TidalFits are built to order. A spa ordered with the WaVS variable-speed swim system ships with Gecko controls — the in.k1000+ color keypad with its swim-speed bar, the in.touch Wi-Fi module, a Gecko heater and circulation pump. A spa ordered without WaVS ships with Balboa controls. The same model year can be either, so never go by the calendar: the spa pack label inside the cabinet names the system, and the keypad confirms it. On the Balboa side the years do matter: pre-2013 spas used legacy button panels and packs (the ML700-style panel on EL systems, the MVS504SZ pack, the VL-700 and AX-10 panels) that have dropped out of the factory’s current catalog — an upgrade path to a current system exists, and we’ll map it on request. From 2013 Balboa-equipped spas run BP-platform electronics: a button panel with printed overlay through 2017, a touch screen from 2019, and the MBP-series packs of the later parts books. 2013 was the changeover year and both generations appear in that year’s book, so check the pack label there too.

Swift Water Trainer owners: spas built with the Variable Flow Swift Water Trainer carry their own NEO-platform electronics — a touchscreen, a hydrotherapy daughter board and a variable-speed pump drive — that are not interchangeable with the standard TidalFit pack. TidalFit Control System Parts FAQs

It depends on how the spa was ordered, not on the year. TidalFit swim spas are built to order: if the WaVS variable-speed swim system was specified, the spa shipped with Gecko controls (in.k1000+ keypad, in.touch Wi-Fi, Gecko heater and circ pump); if WaVS was declined, it shipped with Balboa controls. The same model year can be either. Two quick checks: the sticker on your spa pack inside the cabinet names the system, and a color keypad with a WaVS swim-speed bar means Gecko. Spas built before 2013 are all Balboa, on an older generation (EL1000/EL2000 with the ML700 panel, or the MVS504SZ pack) the factory no longer lists. Photograph the pack label and your serial number and we’ll confirm.

Not as new factory parts — the ML700 panel, the EL1000/EL2000 packs and the MVS504SZ spa pack (factory number 33-0612-08) have dropped out of the current catalog, and used boards are a gamble. The durable repair is an upgrade to a current Balboa control system, which replaces the pack and panel together. Rule of thumb: if the problem is what you see and touch — dead or scrambled display, unresponsive buttons, a peeling button surface — it’s the control panel or its overlay. If the problem is what the spa does — no heat, no power, a tripping GFCI, or a readable message like a heater flow fault — suspect the spa pack, a sensor or flow first. Tell us the exact message in the form and we’ll help you pin it down before you buy either.

The spa pack is the complete control enclosure inside the cabinet: the main circuit board, the wiring connections and, on Balboa packs, the heater assembly in one unit. TidalFit packs of the 2019–2021 books are the MBP501UX (60 Hz) and its 50 Hz export siblings, often with a plug-in daughter board. If the board alone failed, a board swap is the economical fix; if the enclosure or heater went with it, the complete pack is the cleaner repair.

Yes. The Variable Flow Swift Water Trainer (2018–2021 parts books, 2020 manual) uses a NEO swim system: the NEO2100 pack, a NEO touchscreen with swim speed and workout screens, a DB2 hydrotherapy daughter board and a variable-speed Power Defender pump. Those parts are listed separately from the standard TidalFit pack and panel, so tell us you have the Swift Water Trainer when you ask about a control part.
