TidalFit circuit boards and spa packs must match your control system (Gecko on WaVS-equipped spas, Balboa otherwise) and your line frequency — 60 Hz North American and 50 Hz export packs are different parts — and a photo of the board sticker plus your serial number is the surest way to order right the first time.

TidalFit Circuit Boards & Spa Packs — Match by Era & Frequency

The circuit board is the brain inside your spa’s cabinet; the spa pack is the complete enclosure it lives in. Which pack you have follows the swim-system option: WaVS-equipped spas run a Gecko pack, spas ordered without WaVS run a Balboa pack, and the same model year can be either — the pack label decides. On the Balboa side the books then follow the years: the 2013 changeover year carries both the last MVS504SZ boards and the first Balboa 3-pump X-P boards, and the 2019–2021 books move to the MBP-series packs with a plug-in daughter board. North American spas are 60 Hz; export spas are 50 Hz and their boards, packs and heaters are separate factory numbers marked international-only — the two never swap.

Pre-2013 owners, read this first: the EL2000 and MVS504SZ packs of the early TidalFits have dropped out of the factory’s current catalog (the MVS504SZ 60 Hz board is still listed; the complete pack is not). Chasing a used board is rarely worth it — there’s an upgrade path to a current control system, and your serial number plus a photo of the pack label is all we need to lay it out. Swift Water Trainer spas use their own NEO pack and a DB2 hydrotherapy daughter board; they are listed as their own family, not as a TidalFit pack revision.

Board, daughter board, sensor or complete pack? If diagnostics point to the main board, a board swap is the economical repair. The daughter board runs extra outputs on certain configurations and fails independently. And before you order any of them: the heater-flow, heater-dry and overheat messages in the owner’s manual are flow and sensor faults, not board faults — temperature sensors, the hi-limit sensor, the 30 A fuse and the removable terminal block are all listed here and are a fraction of the price of a pack.

Match the system first (the pack label says Gecko or Balboa), then the frequency. Balboa-equipped TidalFits use the 3-pump X-P board (33-0640-08 for 60 Hz, 33-0642-08 for 50 Hz) in the 2013 book, and the MBP501UX pack (33-1801-08) or MBP20P5M pack (33-1920-08) in the 2019–2021 books. Then confirm with the sticker on your existing board and your serial number — send photos through the form and we’ll verify before you order.

The MBP501UX is the Balboa 60 Hz spa pack in the 2019–2021 TidalFit parts books (factory number 33-1801-08), and the factory lists it as the replacement for the earlier 33-1309-08 pack. Its plug-in daughter board (33-1810-08) is a separate part. If your spa pack label shows either number, the MBP501UX is the current path — send the label and we’ll confirm the panel pairing.

Yes, for export spas only: the MBP21UX (33-1803-08, the factory-directed replacement for the 33-1311-08), the MBP21UX 3.0 kW system (33-1804-08) and the MBP21P5M (33-1921-08) are all marked international-only in the parts books. North American TidalFits are 60 Hz and take the 60 Hz parts — the two families are not interchangeable, so check the frequency on your pack label before ordering.

A daughter board plugs into the main board to run additional outputs on certain configurations — the EX VS-9332 daughter board on the MBP-series packs, the MEL2SWIM heater daughter board of the 2013–2014 books, and the DB2 hydrotherapy board on Swift Water Trainer EP models. It can fail while the main board is healthy, which is why we ask for photos of both before you replace either.

Usually not. The owner’s manual’s heater messages (heater flow problem, “heater may be dry” M028, “heater is dry” M027, “heater is too hot” M030) are flow and temperature-sensor faults: a dirty filter, an air lock, a tired circulation pump or a failed sensor. Clear the flow issue first; if the message persists with good flow, the water temperature or hi-limit sensor assembly is the next suspect, and the board comes last.
