Artesian Elite Circuit Boards & Spa Packs — Match by Generation

The circuit board is the brain inside your spa’s cabinet; the spa pack is the complete enclosure it lives in, with the heater built in on Artesian Elite systems. Three generations matter here. 2019 and newer Artesian Elite runs one Balboa MBP-series pack (60 Hz, with a separate 50 Hz export version). 2013–2018 Platinum Elite ran the Balboa BP Platinum system: a main board, a pump daughter board, a heater daughter board and a separately mounted remote heater — and the factory directs orders for that era’s complete pack to the Artesian Elite pack today. 2007–2012 Platinum Elite Gecko packs and the 2008–2011 Platinum Class boards are no longer made.

Board, daughter board, or complete pack? If diagnostics point to the main board alone, a board swap is the economical repair. Daughter boards run additional pumps or the heater circuit on the Platinum Elite BP system and fail independently of the main board. If the enclosure, connections or heater went with it — a common story after a freeze or a flooded equipment bay — the complete pack is the cleaner repair, and for a Platinum Elite it also moves the spa onto the current Artesian Elite pack.

Before you order any board: photograph the sticker on your existing board, your spa pack label and your serial number, and note any message code on the display. Board revisions within a generation exist, and a pack swap on a Platinum Elite should be confirmed against your panel and heater pairing at the same time.

Artesian Elite Circuit Boards & Spa Packs FAQs

For any 60 Hz North American Artesian Elite from 2019 on, yes — 33-1920-08 is the Balboa MBP20P5M system pack in every Artesian Elite parts book, and owners search that number for a reason. It is also the factory’s directed replacement for the 2015–2018 Platinum Elite BP pack, so a late Platinum Elite lands on the same pack. Export 50 Hz spas take the MBP21P5M version instead. Send your pack label and we will confirm which you need.

Board only when the board alone failed and the enclosure, heater and connections are sound. Complete pack when the heater or enclosure is damaged too, when the spa has had water in the equipment bay, or when your era’s bare board is no longer listed. On a 2013–2018 Platinum Elite, going to the complete Artesian Elite pack also retires the separate remote heater and its daughter board in one move — confirm the panel pairing with us first.

The 2013–2018 BP Platinum system used two: a pump daughter board that drives the additional pumps, and a heater daughter board for the remote heater circuit, plus an expansion daughter board on some configurations. Each can fail while the main board is healthy — a spa that heats but lost one pump, or runs pumps but will not heat, is the classic split. Photos of the board stack tell us which one you need.

They are Balboa system messages, not necessarily board faults. M027 (heater is dry) and M028 (heater may be dry) mean the heater did not see enough water; M030 means the heater reached 118 °F; M034 says a pump appears stuck on; M021 says settings were reset after a memory fault. Most heater messages clear after you fix flow — low water, a dirty filter, a closed valve or trapped air. Tell us the exact code and we will steer you to the right part instead of guessing.

No — the Gecko packs of 2007–2012 and the Balboa VS-type boards of the 2008–2011 Platinum Class are no longer made, and we do not list parts we cannot supply. The repair is a control system upgrade to a current pack and panel; send your pack label, equipment bay, panel and serial number and we will spec it.
