Hot Tub Shock & Oxidizers
Hot tub shock and oxidizers: non-chlorine shock in jars and single-dose packets, plus a start-up shock for fresh fills. Shock oxidizes lotions, oils and other bather waste so the sanitizer only has to sanitize; it does not replace chlorine or bromine. Which hot tub shock do I need?
Routine shock, granular: Leisure Time Renew is a non-chlorine oxidizing shock that oxidizes organic contaminants and refreshes water after routine or heavy use without adding chlorine. It comes in 2.2 lb and 5 lb containers. FROG StoMPS is a non-chlorine oxidizing shock in a 2 lb jar with a dosing cap and dosing chart.
Routine shock, single-dose packet: FROG Maintain is a non-chlorine shock in a packet: one packet per 600 gallons, with the jets on high until it dissolves. With a FROG mineral system it is used once a month.
Fresh fill: FROG Jump Start is a start-up shock. One packet per fresh fill removes organic contaminants from the fill water and establishes the initial chlorine level. It is not the monthly shock; that is Maintain.
Chlorine: Leisure Time Spa 56 Chlorinating Granules are listed for both routine sanitation and superchlorination. You will find them with the hot tub sanitizers.
Always follow the directions on the product label.
