Getting the Right Board the First Time
The circuit board is the brain of the spa pack, and it’s the least forgiving part on this site to guess at. The same spa model can carry different boards depending on year and configuration, and Garden Spas split between Balboa systems and some 2021–2022 Gecko spa packs. Two photos settle it: your spa pack label, and the sticker or printed number on the board itself. Add your spa serial number sticker and we can confirm the exact board before money changes hands.
Why Boards Fail
Moisture and corrosion top the list — a slow drip inside the equipment bay will eat a board long before it floods anything. Power surges, failed relays that click but never engage, and the occasional rodent round out the usual suspects. If you’re replacing a board, find out what killed the old one first: a new board installed over an unfixed leak is a repeat purchase waiting to happen.
While the cabinet’s open: inspect the heater unions and nearby plumbing for the leak that may have started this. Repair done? Fresh filters and water care before the refill.
