Garden Spas Control System Parts
Most Garden Spas run Balboa controls, but some 2021–2022 spas shipped with a Gecko spa pack — match control parts by your spa pack label, never by panel appearance.

Balboa or Gecko? Check the Spa Pack Label
Most Garden Spas use Balboa controls. During 2021–2022, some spas shipped with a Gecko spa pack borrowed from the South Seas line instead — and there’s even a control panel overlay with both Gecko and Garden Spas branding on it. There’s no serial number rule that separates the two, so the only reliable way to identify your system is the label on the spa pack itself, inside the equipment bay.
Before ordering any control part: kill the power at the breaker, open the equipment door, and photograph the spa pack label. That one photo tells us the system, and usually the exact board and panel your spa uses.
Overlay, Control Panel, or Circuit Board?
A quick diagnostic before you buy: if the buttons and display still work but the surface is peeling, faded, or bubbled, the overlay is what failed. If buttons stopped responding or the display is dead while the spa still heats and runs, the control panel itself is the likely culprit. If the whole spa is unresponsive or throwing persistent errors after a power cycle, the circuit board moves to the top of the suspect list. Both replacement routes exist — when in doubt, send photos and we’ll tell you which one you actually need.
While the cabinet’s open: look over your heater unions and plumbing for weeping fittings — it’s the cheapest time to catch a leak. Repair done? Grab filters and water care before you refill.
✅ Not Sure It Fits? Verify Before Ordering
Hot tub part compatibility can vary by spa brand, model, year, serial number, control system, and part revision.
To help us identify the correct replacement part, please send clear photos of:
- Your existing part label or sticker
- Your spa serial number sticker
- The equipment area or installation location (if accessible)
EZ Hot Tub Parts can help confirm fitment before you order and help reduce costly returns.

How do I know if my Garden Spa has a Balboa or Gecko control system?
Check the label on the spa pack inside the equipment bay — that’s the only reliable way. Most Garden Spas run Balboa, but some 2021–2022 spas shipped with a Gecko spa pack, and the panels can look similar from the topside. Never order control parts by appearance alone.
Can I replace just the overlay on my Garden Spas control panel?
Often yes. If the buttons and display still respond and only the surface is worn, peeling, or faded, an overlay replacement restores the panel. If buttons have stopped responding or the display has failed, replace the control panel instead. Match either part to your spa pack label first.
What do you need to match a Garden Spas circuit board?
Three photos: the spa pack label, the sticker or printed number on the board itself, and your spa’s serial number sticker. Boards must match the control system, year range, and configuration exactly — send those photos through the fitment form above and we’ll confirm the right board before you order.
Why is my Garden Spa control panel not responding?
Start simple: confirm the GFCI or breaker hasn’t tripped and power-cycle the spa. If the spa runs but the panel is dead or partially dead, worn overlay buttons, a loose panel cable connection, or a failed panel are the usual causes. If the entire spa is unresponsive with power confirmed, the circuit board becomes the likely suspect.
