Garden Spas are designed ozone-ready from the factory. Whether yours shipped with ozone came down to how the dealer ordered it — some spec it, some don’t. Check the equipment bay: an installed system is a small ozone unit hung on the frame with clear tubing running to the injector line.
If yours didn’t come with ozone, adding it is one of the easiest upgrades in the spa world: the ozone unit plugs into the circuit board, one wood screw hangs it on the frame, and a small clear hose connects to the check valve and the Mazzei injector line. No plumbing cuts, no electrician. Ozone won’t replace your sanitizer, but it does a large share of the oxidizing work — which means less chemical demand and gentler water on pillows, filters, and seals.
The Chemical Side, Kept Simple
Ozone or not, the water still needs a sanitizer and balance. Use quality hot tub water care products like Frog or Leisure Time, don’t over-shock, and open the cover at least once a week — whether you used the spa or not — so the water can off-gas instead of concentrating vapor against the cover, pillows, and panel.
