Insert or Body? Know Before You Buy
A spa jet is two parts. The insert is the face you see and the part you almost always need — cracked faces, stopped spinners, and jets that popped out and sank are all insert replacements, done from inside the tub. The body is plumbed into the shell behind the insert; it only needs replacing if it’s cracked and leaking, and that’s a plumbing repair from behind the shell (Typhoon bodies connect 3/4 inch and 3/8 inch smooth-barb lines — see Plumbing if you’re in that deep).

Garden Spas use 1 inch adjustable nozzle jets for targeted streams, 2.75 inch Euro Cyclone jets with a stainless face, and 5 inch Typhoon rotational jets in the big seat positions. The mix varies by model and year, so measure the actual jet you’re replacing rather than counting on a chart. Most inserts remove with a counterclockwise twist — if it resists, work it gently rather than forcing it, and gaskets and compression rings are replaceable if the jet weeps around its edge.
Stopped spinning but otherwise intact? Mineral scale in the bearing is the usual cause — sometimes a cleaning revives it, but a scaled spinner generally means the insert is on borrowed time.
Replacing jets means your water’s getting old — jets and filters wear on the same clock, and fresh water care slows the scale that kills spinners.

How do I remove a Garden Spas jet insert?
Most inserts remove with a counterclockwise twist from inside the tub — no tools, no draining below the jet line needed for upper jets. If an insert resists, work it gently; forcing it risks cracking the body behind it, which turns a small fix into a plumbing repair.
Why did my spa jet stop spinning?
Mineral scale building up in the insert’s bearing is the most common cause. A vinegar soak sometimes frees it, but once a spinner has scaled it tends to slow again — replacing the insert is the lasting fix, and better water balance slows the recurrence.
