Yes. Jet bodies are glued into the plumbing behind the spa shell, so replacement means accessing the back of the jet, cutting the old body out, and re-plumbing. If you’re not comfortable with PVC work, this is a job for a spa technician — the visible jet insert, by contrast, replaces from the front in minutes.

The two big killers are freeze damage and over-tightened or aged fittings. A dirty filter is the number one cause of hot tub freeze damage, because restricted flow lets water sit in the lines. Keep filters clean and winterize properly, and a jet body should outlast the rest of the spa.
