Marquis Spas MQ2KU Circuit Board (2009–2010) – OEM Replacement

This is the replacement main circuit board for Marquis Signature Series Epic and Show spas built in 2009–2010. It’s the Balboa-built EP2-MQ2KU board that runs the heater, pumps, sensors and topside on those spas.

Circuit boards are exact-match parts. Two Marquis boards can look the same and still be set up differently, so match the numbers on your old board, not the photo.

Compatibility & Installation

  • Fits Marquis Signature Series Epic and Show spas (2009–2010)
  • Board: Marquis EP2-MQ2KU EL2 M3 MTS R3E
  • Chip: MQKUR2E2
  • Balboa number: 54278
  • Dip switch setup: on this board, switches #3, #5 and #7 are UP and all others are DOWN. Before you remove your old board, take a photo of its dip switches so you can compare.

Setup note: Marquis 600-6292 and 600-6298 are the same circuit board with different dip switch settings. On 600-6292, switches #3 and #8 are up and all others are down. On 600-6298, switches #3, #5 and #7 are up and all others are down.

Before you start: turn off power at the breaker. Board replacement involves 240V wiring; if you’re not comfortable working inside the spa pack, hire a qualified spa technician.

Common Symptoms of a Failing Board

  • No heat, or the heater won’t come on
  • Pumps or lights won’t turn on
  • Topside is blank or doesn’t respond
  • Burnt, discolored or melted connectors on the board
  • Error codes that keep coming back after a reset

Some of these symptoms can also come from a bad topside, sensor or heater, so check those before replacing the board.

Replacement Information

Replaces Marquis board 600-6298 (Balboa 54278, EP2-MQ2KU). Also replaces Marquis 600-6292. It’s the same board, so 600-6292 owners can use it: set dip switches #3 and #8 up and all others down before installing.

Shipping

Ships directly from our spa controls distributor, usually within 1–2 business days. Orders over $99 ship free in the lower 48.

They are the same circuit board with different dip switch settings, so this board works for either one. On 600-6298, switches #3, #5 and #7 are up. If your old board is 600-6292, change the switches so #3 and #8 are up. All other switches are down on both.

Common signs are no heat, pumps or lights that won’t turn on, a blank topside, burnt connectors on the board, or error codes that return after a reset. A bad topside, sensor or heater can cause some of the same problems, so rule those out first.
