Cal Spas Heater Pressure Switch, 25 Amp – Replacement

The pressure switch is the small safety switch threaded into the heater tube. It lets the heater turn on only when the pump is moving enough water through it. When the switch fails, a perfectly good heater won’t turn on, so a bad pressure switch often gets mistaken for a bad heater.

This is the pressure switch for the Cal Spas XL 5.5 kW heater, which has a 1/8″ pressure switch tap. It’s a HydroQuip 25 amp, 240V switch that replaces 3010P and 4010P switches. Pair it with the pressure switch harness if your wires or spade connectors are corroded.

Specifications

  • Rating: 25 amp, 240V
  • Pressure range: 1–11 PSI
  • Replaces: 3010P and 4010P pressure switches
  • Manufacturer: HydroQuip

What’s in the Box

One pressure switch, as pictured. The wire harness is not included. Reuse the wires from your old switch, or order the Cal Spas pressure switch harness.

Compatibility & Installation

  • Match the number on your old switch (3010P or 4010P style) and its 25 amp rating
  • Turn off power at the breaker and lower the water below the heater, or close the valves, before you unscrew the old switch
  • Seal the threads with Teflon tape, and don’t overtighten the switch into the heater tube
  • Move the wires to the new switch the same way they came off the old one
  • Check the filter first. A clogged filter lowers the flow and makes a good switch look bad

Common Symptoms of a Bad Pressure Switch

  • The heater won’t come on even though the pump runs and the filter is clean
  • Flow, pressure-switch or “heater dry” error messages
  • The heater shuts off and on in short cycles
  • A corroded, cracked or leaking switch body

  • Your existing part label or sticker

EZ Hot Tub Parts can help confirm fitment before you order and help reduce costly returns.

With the filter clean and the pump running, the heater still won’t come on, or you see a flow or pressure-switch message. Check the filter first. If flow is good and the message stays, the switch is the next suspect.

It’s HydroQuip 34-0019-D-K, a 25 amp, 240V switch with a 1–11 PSI range, and it replaces 3010P and 4010P pressure switches. It fits the 1/8″ pressure switch tap on the Cal Spas XL 5.5 kW heater (HydroQuip 26-0011-F-RS-K / 26-0011-7S-K).

Usually not. If the heater still cycles with good flow, the switch can be adjusted slightly within its range. Make small changes, and never set it so the heater can run without water flow.

No. Move the wires from your old switch. If your harness is burnt or the connectors are corroded, replace it at the same time.
