Balboa VL200 Series Topside Controls

The Balboa VL200 Series are the oval topside controls used on Balboa VS-series spa packs. They come in three sizes: small (VL200), medium (VL240) and large (VL260). The button layouts repeat across all three, so after you count your buttons, we’ll ask you to compare the panel to your phone. No tape measure needed.

How to tell which VL200 Series kit you need

  • Count every button — including Temp (or Warm / Cool) and Light.
  • Size matters on the ovals. A 4-button small, medium and large panel can have the exact same labels but will not fit the same hole. Hold your phone flat against the panel: the small oval (about 4-3/8″ wide) is clearly shorter than most phones, the medium (about 5-1/4″) is a little shorter, and the large (about 7″) is longer.
  • Then match the labels. For example Jet / Jet / Temp / Light vs. Jet / Light / Cool / Warm vs. Blower / Jets / Temp / Light.

Size. All three are Balboa oval topsides for VS-series spa packs. The VL200 (small) face is about 4-3/8″ × 1-5/8″, the VL240 (medium) about 5-1/4″ × 1-15/16″, and the VL260 (large) about 7″ × 2-1/8″. Order the same size you have so it fits the opening in your spa.

Hold your phone flat against the panel. Most phones are about 6″ long: the small oval is clearly shorter than the phone, the medium is a little shorter, and the large is longer. Still unsure? Send us a photo with the phone next to the panel and we’ll tell you.

Yes. With the spa powered off at the breaker, unplug the old control from the circuit board, plug in the new one, and apply the overlay. No special tools required.
