Softub Filters

Softub filters are chosen by the drain cover in the tub, not by model: a 5″ drain cover (2009 and newer) takes the slip-collar filter, a 4″ snap-on drain cover (pre-2009) takes the older snap-on filter. Measure the cover and you are done.

✅ Not Sure It Fits? Verify Before Ordering

Hot tub filter fitment varies by spa brand, model, year, filter size, thread style and top/bottom style.

To confirm the correct replacement, send clear photos of:

  • The label or end cap of your current filter
  • Your spa serial number sticker
  • The filter well with the filter removed (so we can see the fitting)

EZ Hot Tub Parts confirms fitment before you order, so you do not pay return freight on a wrong filter.

Softub filter buying guide

2009 and newer (5″ drain cover). Three ways to buy the same fit: the genuine Softub 5020 (single or 2 pack), the Great Barrier 8553 slip-collar filter, and the ProAqua version. All stocked here.

Pre-2009 (4″ drain cover). The Great Barrier 8555 snap-on filter, single or 2 pack. It snaps onto the 4″ cover; it will not seat on the newer 5″ cover.

Softub filters are small and do a lot of work: rinse weekly and replace every 3–4 months in regular use. Great Barrier filters are stocked in quantity because they only ship by the case from the maker.

Not sure which filter brand is right for you? Compare Hurricane, OEM Factory Direct, Pleatco, ProAqua, Darlly and Ego3.

Keep your filters working longer: High Pressure Filter Nozzle | Filter Cleaner | Water Care — and every order over $99 ships free, so a spare set plus cleaner usually rides along at no extra cost.

Softub filter questions

Which Softub filter do I need?

Measure the drain cover in the bottom of the tub. 5″ across = 2009 and newer, use the 5020 / Great Barrier 8553 / ProAqua filter. 4″ snap-on cover = pre-2009, use the Great Barrier 8555.

Is the Great Barrier Softub filter as good as the genuine one?

It is the filter Softub’s own dealers stock and it fits the same drain cover; we sell both so you can choose by price. Both are in stock here.

How often should a Softub filter be replaced?

Every 3–4 months in regular use, with a weekly rinse in between. A 2 pack keeps a fresh one on hand.
