Aspen Spas Filters

Aspen Spas use one of three filters. Modern Aspen Spas take either one PWW50L (the 50 sq ft inside-thread Teleweir cartridge) or two EZ11 cartridges (PWW50P3, 1-1/2″ coarse outside thread). Older Aspen Spas take the PRB50-IN drop-in. Pull your filter, match it to a card below, and every option is on its page.

Hot tub filter fitment varies by spa brand, model, year, filter size, thread style and top/bottom style.

To confirm the correct replacement, send clear photos of:

  • The label or end cap of your current filter
  • Your spa serial number sticker
  • The filter well with the filter removed (so we can see the fitting)

Aspen Spas filter buying guide

PWW50L — modern, one filter. 50 sq ft Teleweir cartridge with an inside (female) thread: Pleatco PWW50L, Unicel 4CH-949, Filbur FC-0172, our EZ05. Options: Hurricane (stocked, made in the USA), ProAqua, ProAqua antimicrobial and Darlly.

EZ11 — modern, two filters. 45 sq ft cartridge, 1-1/2″ coarse outside thread: Pleatco PWW50P3, Unicel 6CH-940, Filbur FC-0359. Replace both together with the Hurricane 2 pack (stocked), or choose Darlly 60401 or ProAqua antimicrobial.

PRB50-IN — older Aspen Spas. 50 sq ft drop-in cartridge: Pleatco PRB50-IN, Unicel C-4950, Filbur FC-2390, our EZ04. Options: Hurricane, ProAqua, ProAqua antimicrobial and Darlly.

Aspen Spas filter questions

What filter does my Aspen Spa use?

Modern Aspen Spas use either one PWW50L (4CH-949, inside-thread Teleweir) or two EZ11 cartridges (PWW50P3 / 6CH-940, coarse outside thread). Older Aspen Spas use the PRB50-IN (C-4950) drop-in. Count your filters and check the threads, or send us a photo.

My Aspen has two filters — which do I order?

Two outside-thread filters means EZ11. Order a 2 pack so both are replaced at the same time.

Is the PWW50L the same as the 4CH-949?

Yes. Pleatco PWW50L, Unicel 4CH-949 and Filbur FC-0172 are the same 50 sq ft inside-thread cartridge; we list it as the EZ05.

Is the PRB50-IN the same as the C-4950?

Yes. Pleatco PRB50-IN, Unicel C-4950 and Filbur FC-2390 are the same 50 sq ft drop-in cartridge; we list it as the EZ04.

How often should I replace my Aspen Spas filter?

Every 12 months, with a rinse every 2–4 weeks and a monthly soak in filter cleaner. On a two-filter tub, replace both together.
