We strongly recommend it. Gaskets compress and take a set over time, and reusing them is the most common cause of leaks after a heater replacement. Grab a pair of heater gaskets with your order.
A comfortable DIY job: shut power off at the breaker, close the slice valves (or drain below the heater), swap the assembly with new gaskets, then check for leaks before restoring power. If you’re not comfortable working around spa wiring, have a spa tech handle it.
