Repair the seals inside a compatible CMP 1-inch spa diverter valve without replacing the complete valve.
This three-piece aftermarket O-ring kit is assembled by EZ Hot Tub Parts for compatible CMP 1-inch top-access diverter valves. It replaces the two valve-stem O-rings and the larger sealing O-ring used inside the valve.
Replacing worn O-rings may help correct water seepage around the diverter, stiff handle movement and other sealing problems caused by O-rings that have become flattened, cracked, stretched, swollen or brittle.
This is not an OEM CMP-packaged kit. EZ Hot Tub Parts independently sources and assembles the replacement O-rings included in this kit.
What Is Included?
- Two valve-stem O-rings selected for compatible CMP 1-inch diverter valves
- One larger sealing O-ring
- One complete three-piece kit for servicing one compatible valve
The diverter handle, cap, stem, internal gate and valve body are not included.
CMP and Waterway Kits Are Different
CMP and Waterway 1-inch diverter valves can look very similar from above, but they use different valve-stem O-rings. The CMP and Waterway kits are not interchangeable.
Look for a manufacturer name or marking molded into the cap, stem or another valve component. If no marking is visible, compare the original valve components with the product images or send us clear photos before ordering.
Understanding the 1-Inch Valve Size
The 1-inch designation refers to the valve’s plumbing size. These smaller diverter valves should not be confused with substantially larger 2-inch plumbing diverter valves, which commonly have a palm-sized handle approximately 4–5 inches across.
Do not identify the valve by spa brand or model year alone. Spa manufacturers may use CMP, Waterway or other valve designs during the same production period.
Common Signs the O-Rings May Need Replacement
- Water seeping from underneath the diverter handle or cap
- A diverter handle that has become unusually stiff
- Flattened, cracked, stretched or swollen O-rings
- Visible damage to the existing valve-stem seals
- A valve that operated correctly before the seals deteriorated
If the cap, stem, internal gate or valve body is cracked or damaged, replacing the O-rings may not correct the problem. A complete valve or additional replacement components may be required.
Installation Notes
Shut off power to the spa before opening or servicing the diverter valve. Remove the original O-rings carefully and clean the sealing surfaces before installing the replacements. Avoid twisting, stretching or cutting the new O-rings during installation.
Use only a lubricant specifically approved for spa and pool O-rings. Do not use petroleum jelly or another petroleum-based lubricant, as it may damage compatible sealing materials.

✅ Not Sure It Fits? Verify Before Ordering
CMP and Waterway 1-inch diverter valves can look similar but use different valve-stem O-rings. The spa brand or model year alone does not settle it: identify the valve manufacturer and match the internal components.
To help us identify the correct replacement, please send clear photos of:
- The complete diverter handle and cap from above
- The underside of the removed cap
- The valve stem and existing O-ring locations
- Any CMP name, logo or number molded into the valve parts
- Your spa serial number sticker, if available
EZ Hot Tub Parts can help confirm fitment before you order and help reduce costly returns.
