Tropic Seas Spas Topside Control

Shop Tropic Seas Spas Topside Controls and Overlays

The topside control is the panel you use every day — and because Tropic Seas Spas are built by Artesian Spas on Balboa control systems, your replacement topside is identified by your board generation, pump configuration, and model year rather than the spa model name alone. A topside that fits the cutout can still be incompatible with your board, so matching the system matters more than matching the shape.
This category includes complete topside controls and replacement overlays. If your buttons and display still work but the overlay is peeling, cracked, or faded, an overlay alone may be all you need. If buttons have stopped responding or the display is blank or garbled, a complete topside is usually the fix.
If you own a Tahiti, Waikiki, Oahu, Maui, Fiji, Kona, Rio, Kawai, Hawaii, Lanai, Makai, Tonga, Hana, or Tropic Pool — you’re in the right place.

✅ Not Sure It Fits? Verify Before Ordering

Tropic Seas topside compatibility can vary by spa model, model year, pump configuration, control system generation, and connector style.

To help us identify the correct replacement topside or overlay, please send clear photos of:

  • The front of your existing topside panel
  • The label on the back or underside of the panel
  • Your spa serial number sticker

EZ Hot Tub Parts can help confirm fitment before you order and help reduce costly returns.

How to Identify Your Tropic Seas Topside Control

Before ordering, try to locate:

  • The model number on the back or underside of the panel
  • Your button count and overlay layout — a 1-pump overlay differs from a 2-pump layout
  • Your spa’s model year — topside generations follow the board generations, with changes around 2013–2015 and 2017 and newer
  • Your spa serial number, which confirms the production era

Some Tropic Seas models, such as the Tonga, use a model-specific overlay. The number of jets your overlay controls must match your spa’s actual pump configuration — an overlay with buttons your spa doesn’t use, or missing ones it needs, is the wrong overlay even if it physically fits.

Overlay vs. Complete Topside — Which Do You Need?

The overlay is the printed decal surface with the button domes; the topside is the full electronic panel underneath. If everything still works but the surface is peeling, faded, or the button domes have collapsed, a replacement overlay restores it. If buttons don’t respond, the display is blank or garbled, or you’re seeing panel communication errors, replace the complete topside.

Is It the Topside or the Circuit Board?

Topside symptoms can mimic board failures. Check the cable connection at both ends first, and look for corrosion in the connector. A blank display while pumps and heating still run on schedule usually points to the topside or cable; a completely dead spa points to the board or pack. If it turns out to be the board, those are in our Circuit Boards category linked above.

Repair finished? A drained spa means a fresh startup — stock up on water care before you refill.

Tropic Seas Topside Controls Frequently Asked Questions

Check the label on the back or underside of the panel, note your button count and layout, and confirm your spa’s model year and serial number. Topside generations follow the board generations.

If the buttons and display still work but the surface is peeling or faded, an overlay may be all you need. If buttons don’t respond or the display is blank, replace the complete topside.

Yes. A 1-pump overlay and a 2-pump overlay are different parts, and some models like the Tonga use a model-specific overlay. Match your actual jet and pump setup.

Check the cable connection first. If pumps and heating still run normally, suspect the topside or cable; if the spa is completely dead, suspect the board or spa pack.

Use the fitment verification form on this page and send photos of the front of your panel, the label on the back, and your spa serial number. We’ll help confirm the correct part before you order.
